Help me find a new 'do!

All right.  I haven’t cut my hair in five months, and I haven’t had it styled in almost a year!  It seems I only pamper my hair when an event is coming up.  Five months ago, I graduated high school (and the day I got my hair cut was the day I got my driver’s license!), and a year ago the holiday parties started coming around.  I think it’s time for a new ‘do, won’t you help me? :]

Note the difference between the color at the roots and the ends.  I loved my side bangs.  Not sure if I want to go back to them.

You can’t see what I’m talking about, but I was trying to demonstrate how long I wish my hair were.  A good five inches longer than the last picture, which is only three or so more than my hair length right now.

So this is what we’re working with.  I’m not really sure what my exact shade of brown is, especially since my ends sun bleach easily.  When I compare my roots to my ends, my ends literally almost look blond.  I’m also not sure if I want to keep my color the way it is or dye it all one color.  If I did dye it, I would go for warm browns.

Now, the reason it’s such a daunting task for me to get my hair done is because I NEED pictures of I want.  And I’m difficult because I never want exactly what a picture shows.  I’ll a have a picture for bangs, a picture for color, and a picture for cut.  I just don’t trust my stylist to imagine what I’m describing.

I originally wanted to get this done the week before my birthday early February, but now I'm thinking I'll get it done during semester break.  I am also planning on buying hair extensions to help with the length and volume of my hair.  I would like to have them before I do anything to may hair so that I can dye the extensions if I need to.  Please give me your input :]
